On Creative Writing

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

This was what Burges Johnson came up with in Essaying the essay :

“Somewhere in the educational scheme there must be encouragement for the dreams and imaginings of youth. The student must be permitted emotional expression in order that he may be taught to discipline his emotions. His shy fancies must be drawn out of him for the good of his soul.”

Well, to most individuals’, who are eager in having their thoughts and fantasies written down, writing has long been considered as an almost sizable barrier; or at least, having all the thoughts and concepts compiled, thereafter, managed and formulated into something plausibly comprehensive, was (probably still is) a huge mountain. A barrier which in the beginning would look quite impenetrable.

Young or, relatively, non-young!! writers, all have tried their best to pen down their concept (or concepts) in form of a consciously streamed unconscious flow, ironically known as the “stream of consciousness!”   Ideas that initially came to them as points that can be turned into enjoyably readable pieces of writing. However, they pay least attention to the fact that, aside from possessing a thinkable and worthwhile concept, it would mostly be the creativity in style that would speak their thought out.

A sort of literary ‘Creativity’ which would call forth a ’self-expressiveness’ of rumbling ideas, which are available to most people, into sensible pieces.

Linda A. Lavid in her book, On the Creative Writing, exerted to forge methods and vital aspects of a readable writing into a quite plausibly user-friendly walk-through on Creative Writing.
